I think that a good way to combat the use of steroids as far as the media goes is to focus on the great players who aren't doping and not the great players who are. By highlighting the positive performances and statistics from non-doping players many young athletes, including those in MLB farm systems can have successful and healthy role models to emulate. We're now in a mode where every baseball player is a suspect, its just how it is. And most players know this so they're getting very defensive. So defensive they lash out before finding out the whole story. I'm sure he was just told that a blogger accused him, not what the actual article said.
