_44884652_adebayor_282As no one has yet refuted any of the reports, lets assume that City has put a bid in for Adebayor, the reported £20m offer could well rise to £25m if Arsenal haggle a bit. Then the question becomes, will Adebayor move to City? If I know Adebayor, and I think we all do, I think he would bite Mark Hughes’ hand off to play for the reported £130,000 a week as well as a chance to play Europa League football till the end of time. He also seems to be one of those types who would take a gargantuan pay increase then come out with one of those  “I feel that City are on the verge of something big here, and I wanted to be a part of it.” statements. Sure they are. Granted with Tevez, Robinho, Santa Cruz and Adebayor they would have a terrific strike corps, but no one has ever won while playing four strikers with a crap defense. I do get a hunch that Robinho and Ade would get along, though.

Now what does Wenger do with the money? The Marouane Chamakh deal is getting closer and closer to reality, and that’s all well and good. He doesn’t necessarily excite me, but in Arsene we Trust. It is reported that Chamakh could be signed for around £7m, so funds would still be available after that purchase. As you know, we need a strong CM, with Melo signing for Juve, there are still a myriad a players for Arsene to look at. From Cana, Matuidi or Inler, Arsenal could acquire an adequate partner for Cesc. What about the back line? I don’t necessarily feel comfortable that Gallas is still in the squad. Sure he cleaned up his act after being stripped of the captaincy, and his performances improved immensly as a result. But, I still feel he is a bit of a ticking time-bomb. He has already stated that he will not hesitate to leave when his contract runs out next summer. We could reach a stage late in the season where he adopts a “what do I care” mentality, which could be detrimental to any trophy challenges we could be making. Just better to cut our losses on that one, is my opinion.

There’s always been talk of bringing ‘Arsenal fan’, Micah Richards from City. But he seems trouble to me. There is no questioning his talent, but he just doesn’t seem completely focused. While that could change with Le Proffesor, I don’t know if its worth the risk. I really like Hangeland, but I don’t expect him to move till next summer. Same goes for Sakho, who would probably be my first choice to fill in next to Vermaelen.

Either way, if Adebayor goes off to City in the near future, we’ll miss you Manu. We’ll miss your offsides. We’ll miss your sporadically brilliant goals. We’ll miss whingeing about you just 5 minutes after you score those brilliant goals. We’ll miss your odd ‘grenade’ celebrations. Lastly, we’ll miss your unselfishness and staunch professionalism…

On a final note, I’d like to send my thoughts out to former Gunner, John Hartson, who has just been diagnosed with brain cancer. Keep fighting John.

Agree with both your comments regarding Ade and Gallas. If Santa Cruz is worth 17 mill then the board def need to hold out for 25. If that figure can be agreed, take the money and run. He is a selfish, greedy muppet. Rather have a bendtner in my team than him, and i ant the biggest of bendtner fan i must admit. But least is works, least he tries, and above, he dont moan. Appropiate point to agree with your comment. Sell Gallas as well, dont like the man attitude. Thats the problem over there with many players. I find it hard to relate to many of these players now. Bring back ray from romford and merse from the bar. However, i did and still do love pat, dennis and H. Old Arsenal we love you . . . . . .

pls wenger can let go of any player but not adebayor if adebayor should go then arsenal is in trouble next season because to me adebayor is the lifeline and heartbeat of the gunners team

Ade out for 20-25mill and bring in Huntlaar 15-17 mill & Cana 7 mill. Done. We would then be serious title contenders.

Team: Almunia, Sagna, Verm, Gallas, Clichy, Arshavin, Cana, Cesc, Walcott, RVP, Huntlaar.

Subs: Fab, Toure, Gibbs, Song, Nasri, Rosicky, Eduardo.

Backup: Djourou, Wilshere, Ramsey, Diaby Vela, Bentner.

That squad would be awesome and we are just 2 signings away from it. Do it Wenger!!!!

I’d take Flamini and Viera thanks.. experience wanted.. to get the boys up to the level.. then this would do the trick… they both have proven records in the premiership and no waiting for them to..click…

risky.. yes but no more so than the other options…

Pie what about Denilson you have left him from your dream team

Pie,

Theres some chap called “Robin Van Persie” who also plays for the Arsenal

what RvP stand for then…? lol

Hey Irvine. I personally would sell Denilson, along with Eboue, Senderos, Sylvestre & possibly Diaby (who is great sometimes but inconsistent).

Although like Phil, I would love Flamini back. We just simply cant afford his wages, which are now around 110k a week. After selling the players I have mentioned above. I would bring in Hangeland to replace Senderos. Micah Richards to replace Eboue & De Rossi to replace Diaby & Denilson.

Just think….(oh I can dream)

Team: Almunia, Sagna, Verm, Gallas, Clichy, Arshavin, Cana, Cesc, Walcott, RVP, Huntelaar.

Subs: Fab, Toure, Gibbs, Song, Nasri, Rosicky, Eduardo.

Backup: Djourou, Wilshere, Ramsey, Vela, Bendtner.

Now add Hangeland, Richards & De Rossi to that….

pie, i can see how well you like arsenal, walcott in your team he is just too average, even more than some players like rvp, denilson, song, toure, you have shown how racial you are.average english player in my team NO,maybe bench for europe quota

Fab on the bench? Seriously? You are a mentalist.

I just want Ade to leave so bad I don’t care where he goes, we need some quality. And esp in Europe imagine a middle of Fab, Nas, Arsh, Walcott, a new brilliant DM all supplying RVP. Man that would be great.

bring in some experience.. enven Barca has Silvihno and Pyol in there squad.. i don’t see any older mature legs or shoulders… (who have actually won anything..)

just a thought..

Fabianski (goalkeeper…)lol

If theres an offer already on the table, you’ve gotta take it for ade. since he’s had his new contract his workrate is far too low, and after the last 10 games of last season he’s proved that he doesn’t deserve the arsenal shirt. get rid of him fast

Thanks Phil…. obviously you are someone that reads things before replying. To clarify to Ad, “Fab” is our goal keeper. You will see that Cesc is in my midfield. And to point out the obvious to Mickoi, RVP stands for Robin Van Persie.

As for Fido, what the hell has race got to do with anything. How am I a racist? All I have mentioned is my ideal team. If I were a racist against people who are not English how come I have got only 1 English person in my starting line up. You are obviously one of these people that likes starting arguments instead of adding constructive criticism. Ok you may not agree with my selection, there are probably loads who don’t, but that doesn’t mean I am a racist. Also Fido, if that were the case? Would I be racist against English people if I left Walcott out as there wouldn’t be any English players in the team. You are clearly a fool, if you cant write anything constructive or debate without making wild accusations then you shouldn’t be writing on blogs etc.

I also agree with Cpt Dawg. Ade has flashes of brilliance and yes he scores a lot of goals. But he could score a lot more if he took half of his chances and if he didn’t keep getting caught offside. On top of this, he doesnt have any desire. He lacks passion, doesn’t track back and for someone that is a 6ft 3 target man, how much of the game when going forward do you see him in the box. Hardly any, he is always on the fringe of it passing the ball about. I feel like shouting at him!!! Get in the box and leave the passing/crossing to Cesc, RVP, Arsh, Walcott, Nasri & Gibbs etc!!!

Emana from Betis is right player for us

What is it that people don’t like about Denilson? He is the highest rated Arsenal player (stats-wise) of last season, he is the only midfielder to feature in and play consistently well in our 22 game unbeaten run, he played in all those games.

I mean he had to fill fabegras’ boots (how many players do you know could even try that?) for 3 months and we were unbeaten that entire time.

Am I the only one that noticed, the games he was left out of games near the end of the season we lost badly?

The only reason people don’t like him is because he’s not a natural DM with height and an imposing physique, he’s a hard working, talented attacking midfielder forced to both take on Flamini’s and Fabregas’ role throughout the season, he deserves a lot more credit than people give him.

Bongo – well said.

I think Denilson got a rough time undeservedly so last season. I believe if he bulks up a little we have a real quality player on our hands.

He just needs to be harder – the qulaity is there in his passing, and general play. a bit more physical and he will be the real deal.

You have to remember he is only 21…. There are two many critics out there and not enough fans.
