I’ve just heard a rumor, though highly unlikely, that Boro Primorac, first team coach, is headed to Madrid to discuss a deal with Atletico. Negotiations with Bordeaux over Marouane Chamakh have reportedly stalled with the French club looking for at least £11m. The story also claims that Arsenal would offer the £25m they would be getting for Adebayor, as well as want-away central defender William Gallas, and young Spanish starlet, Fran Merida. An Aguero discussion was mentioned last summer, as well. As crazy as this transfer rumor seems to be, crazier things have happened.
UPDATE: As we thought it is a load of dross. As many of the comments have pointed out, Chamakh’s £7m release clause completely nullifies part of this rumor. Sorry some of you got worked up.

I can’t see it happening. With Eduardo and Vela I think Aguero is too similar. I would prefer to see Huntelaar. I think he would link up well with Van Persie and Eduardo. But I wouldn’t be suprised if we sold Adebayor and din’t buy anyone.
I don’t know. Why would we buy someone who is 5 foot 7, and probably needs time in the EPL?! I still don’t know. Of course, this could be false, but it could be true also. We have Arshavin, Walcott, Rosicky, Nasri, Fabregas in the same height group, Van Persie isn’t tall either, only our defenders maybe.
Chamakh the same. He looks worse than Adebayor.
We need a guy like Huntelaar or Dzeko. Tall tall tall. Who can use his head AND his feet.

not necessarily. Some players have a good leap, something someone as tall as ade never had. Chamakh has the instinct to beat offsides and often scores from headers..

I also heard that Igor stepanos is comming out of retirement to be offered a 200k a week deal by barcelona!

Chamakh is 6′1″ and very good in the air. It’s his main attribute. He doesn’t score many, but they’re usually with his head. Has regularly been seen in League1 outjumping the goalkeeper and crossbar! Still not sure about him , tho.

I’ve read that my grandmother is willing to sign for Arsenal only if she gets in the 100k GBP a week. but this is a rumor only. It was posted on a Albanian website

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar’s prospective deal with German side Stuttgart is far from being complete according to the player’s agent. The Dutch international looks set to leave Real Madrid only six months after moving to the Bernabeu, having seen Florentino Perez’s galactico policy marginalise his opportunities for first team football. Speculation in the Spanish press has suggested that Stuttgart have had a €20m offer accepted by the Real hierarchy, but representative Arnold Oosterveer has stressed that circumstances are not so clear cut. Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and AC Milan have all been linked with the player in the past, with the Gunners tipped to renew their interest in light of Emmanuel Adebayor’s likely move to Manchester City.
25-year-old Huntelaar has not travelled with the rest of Manuel Pellegrini’s squad to Ireland for their pre-season friendly with Shamrock Rovers as he continues to assess his options. Speaking to Calciomercato.it, agent Oosterveer claimed:
“The German club has reached an agreement with Real Madrid, but not with us.
“We have to talk, the player needs to evaluate not only the economic aspect, but also the sporting one.”

I’ve just heard a rumor that Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieira have been slurping at the the fountain of youth – and will be rejoining The Arsenal as a pair of promising 21 year olds.
adebayor will go for 25m……huntelaar should come. huntelaar will cost around 20m. add another 5m-6m and bid for cana as early as possible. now that is what we need…….

This rumour is patently bull but the arguments raised here about a striker’s height are interesting. We just had three seasons of trying to hit Ade with a long one whenever we panicked. Why are we so hung up about a target man? Target men are for less imaginative and technical teams than ours. Wiltord, Henry, Wright, Bergkamp, Anelka, even big wonderful Kanu, not bullies. You want bullies? Go watch Chelsea
Don’t want huntelaar. We need someone with some pace upfront. That is what we are missing. Huntelaar is really just a great goal poacher, with average footballing abilities. And we already have a world class finisher at the club in eduardo. To me rvp and huntelaar upfront wud be way too slow for the premiership. Aguero wud be awesome! But highly unlikely I imagine.
chamakh is a descent player, he certainly looks to be underrated. i hear his buyout clause is just 7mill!!!!1. descent in air also…..
To be honest with Eduardo, Bendtner, RVP, Arshavin, Walcott, Vela all being able to play as a front 2 or 3 we could cope without a replacement striker. That is 6 players already and I would love to see us play a front 3 next year. We also have Simpson and Barazite ready to start some games to see if they can cut it at this level.
On another note has anyone seen the video of Nouble the Chelsea youth player that we are possibly going to snatch. I know it is a case of him being one for the future but he looks excellent and at 6′3″ and bloody quick I think he will be one of those that is able to step up early at 18 or 19. Get this kid now. I see a superstar in the making.

Hunterlaar SHOULD be the replacement at the top of Monsieur Wenger’s list.Unfortunately,however,he is more likely to revert to type and buy a cheaper alternative out of France.An alternative who would take longer to get used to the EPL- and would most likely be unavailable in the New Year so that he can play in the African Cup.But importantly the club would have made a tidy profit on the two transactions!Although with a bit of luck they might use some of it to buy a decent defensive midfielder -but this is looking as likely as my original ascertion.

Marouane Chamakh has a buy-out clause of 7mil, why would the talks stall cause they want 11mil!!!
Why is anybody not talking about the player that we need…Momodu Niang of OLM.he is what Arsenal need to replace Ade.he can score with his head and his leg and he uses both legs.and it will come for less than 16m.

I have said it since the begining, if Ade goes then Huntelaar. Add Cana in the midfield plus Hangeland in the back. If we need funds to do it sell Eboue (Toure for cover at RB) , Silvestre and Diaby. We take the league with these players
